Stonehaven Half Marathon

Stonehaven Running Club are proud to support and help to organise the Stonehaven Half Marathon which takes place on the first Sunday in July each year.

Start time 10:00am 

Starting point and registration : The McRobert Pavillion, Mineralwell Park, Stonehaven AB39 3XY 

Stonehaven Half Marathon will be run over a route made up of local roads and some forest tracks. The event is not a closed road race. 

The Stonehaven Half Marathon is a Scottish Athletics approved event. Scottish Athletics has issued the Race Organisers with a permit to hold the race which under the Terms and Conditions stipulate that: Runners taking part in the Half Marathon must be over 17 years old on race day. 

The course is unsuitable for wheelchairs. 

Running with buggies or pets is not permitted. 

No "on the day" entries are permitted. Enter Online by midnight Friday 5th July 2024. 

Cut off time is 1pm (3 hours). 

Limited changing facilities, including showers are available in the McRobert Pavilion. 

Registration: 8.30am to 9.45 am on race day at The McRobert Pavillion, Mineralwell Park, Stonehaven AB39 3PY.

You will be issued with your race number and timing chip at Registration. 

There is free parking at the nearby Stonehaven Leisure Centre or within town. 

If for any reason you are unable to run your number may be transferred to another runner until close of business Wednesday 3rd June 2024. Please contact the race organiser at Jritchieruns@gmail.com providing details of the new runner. 

No refunds will be given unless the race is cancelled. 

Course: The course is hilly and run over scenic and undulating roads and forest tracks in and around the town of Stonehaven. There will be four water stops on the route. 

Safety: Please note that the race takes place partly on roads that remain open to traffic. All runners are responsible for their own and others safety and must ensure that they remain aware of other road users at all times and can clearly hear instructions from marshals and other race officials. The use of headphones (other than bone conducting headphones) is not permitted except for the off-road section. 

Kit: There are no mandatory kit requirements. Despite this being a summer run, conditions over the years have been very varied – so please do come prepared for the expected weather conditions. Finish: Refreshments will be available to all runners of the race. Showers will also be available, although hot water cannot be guaranteed. 

Prizes: Prizes will be presented to the winners of various categories in or by the McRobert Pavilion, soon after the race finshes. 

1K Fun Run There will be a 1k fun run held at the park soon after the race has started; this is open to any age, free to enter, no registration required and a medal for every finisher.
